DIRBS is a system designed to identify counterfeit, stolen, or smuggled mobile devices. It works by checking the unique IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number of the mobile device against a central database maintained by the PTA. If the mobile device is not registered, blacklisted or reported stolen, it will be approved for use in Pakistan.
Once the mobile device passes the verification process, it is registered with the PTA, and a Device Verification Certificate (DVC) is issued. The DVC confirms that the mobile device is legal, and it can be used in Pakistan without any legal complications.
